RELAX, WINE AND DINE

Situated in the heart of Leeds in a historic, tranquil waterside setting, Granary Wharf is a beautiful location and is set to become one of the most dynamic communities in the city. High quality retail outlets, independent bars and upmarket restaurants are being developed on site, which is all part of the‘Buy to Live’ ethos of creating a vibrant destination where people want to live, work and spend their free time.

The Hop

A traditional Real Ale House with an intimate atmosphere for live music and contemporary oh-so-cool décor. Favouring the 'unplugged' feel that comes from close contact between artists and members of the public.

The unique concept began in late 2008 as an amalgamation between Jamie Lawson director of  Ossett Brewery, Mike Heaton drummer from Yorkshire Indie band Embrace and ex-Virgin Japan MD Mike Inman.

Mint Hotel

Mint Hotel Leeds opened at Granary Wharf in September 2009 and is key in bringing a diverse range of visitors and round-the-clock footfall to the newly regenerated development. The hotel has 333 rooms and overlooks the waterside of the Leeds Liverpool canal. There are two lounge bars at Mint Hotel Leeds: the relaxed and informal Granary Lounge with an outdoor terrace overlooking the canal side with al fresco dining and its own extensive whisky library, and the stunning SkyLounge with floor to ceiling windows framing spectacular views over the city and a covered balcony; a dramatic backdrop for any occasion.

The hotel’s destination AA Rosette restaurant, City Café, offers guests a fine dining experience in softly styled surroundings with a traditional British menu featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients on both its a la carte menu and the exceptional value ‘Market Menu’, created by head chef Leah Jenson, which features seasonal produce and changes on a weekly basis.

Fazenda

Adding a taste of South America to the development, Fazenda is an authentic Brazilian restaurant, the first of its kind in Leeds. The restaurant’s menu features fifteen cuts of meat cooked by gaucho chefs in a traditional rodizio grill, served alongside a gourmet salad bar, authentic Brazilian side dishes and speciality South American beers and wines. Guests control their services with a small double-sided electronic chip. The green side signals the gaucho chefs to bring out skewers of sizzling meats to the table, while the red side indicates a stopping point.

Robert Melmon is in charge of the day-to-day running of the restaurant, following the success of his family-run restaurant, Argento Steakhouse in Huddersfield, which has a strong reputation for offering high quality, authentic Argentine food.

Out of the Woods

Out of the Woods is an independent coffee shop which opened at Granary Wharf in December 2010. Owned by Jon Baldwin and Ross Halliday, it’s the second venue opened by the dynamic deli duo following the success of their first outlet in Holbeck Urban Village, just south of Leeds City Centre, which opened in 2006. The award-winning menus have already proved popular with local diners offering made to order sandwiches, cakes and fresh fruit smoothies, using some of the region’s best suppliers. The coffee shop offers internal and external seating for diners as well as a take away service and an outside catering facility.
