Location
Granary Wharf is also just a short walk from Leeds city centre and has some of the best shopping, dining and entertainment in the North, with a new walkway, ‘Waterman’s Bridge’, connecting the Wharf and the city centre.
The area benefits from its close proximity to a number of high-profile regeneration projects, including Holbeck Urban Village, the transformation of the Neville Street tunnel into a creative, contemporary gateway for the city, and the construction of a keenly anticipated walkway which will directly link Granary Wharf to Leeds Train Station, and is expected to open in 2012.
Added to this is the rejuvenation of the waterside being undertaken by ISIS, including the refurbishmentof two graving docks for the repair of boats, together with new boater facilities.
With its position on the historic Leeds-Liverpool canal and River Aire, restoration of the waterside will herald a new golden age of this location with a contemporary twist. The long-term aim is for Granary Wharf to be a thriving waterside community, and the jewel in the crown of Leeds’s celebrated city centre.
